dress inspired by tba...

So the tba dress on the left is my favourite piece in the A/W10 collection and I am determined to make a dress using this as inspiration.

This weekend I went back to my home town and bought my fabric and thread (which I have left at the boys, so no pics I'm afraid!) and I even have a pattern with a yoke design element in it which is perfect.

My only problem is the pattern I have is a size too small for me so I'm going to be spending the next few weeks attempting to alter it to fit me. Wish me luck! I shall be updating again very shortly with how this project is going!

Recent finds...

So here's a little update of my recent finds and current sewing project.....

a beautiful peter-pan collar dress and not to mention my new mannequin

cute buckle shoes from Vintage at Goodwood....

and finally this bundle of red and white polka dots is my current project. Believe it or not this is a sixties dress that I have a few plans for. It is in a slight state of disrepair so I'm going to give it some tlc and see what the end result is.

Dear Creatures AW

I know lots of bloggers have covered Dear Creatures' Autumn/ Winter Collection already but I just love it so much that I don't feel there's any harm in repeating the gesture.

Not only do I really love the clothes, but the photography is great too as well as the use of the red telephone and vintage suitcases as props. Lovely.

Vintage at Goodwood♥

Gosh it's been a whirlwind the past few weeks which certainly isn't lacking in a few beautiful vintage finds and vintage events.

First off is Vintage at Goodwood. I went on the Friday with my lovely Mother as part of birthday celebrations and it really was a fab day, aside from the HUGE downpour of rain we had part way through the day.

There was lots of cute vintage stalls to have a browse around as well as a 'Vintage Highstreet'. The stalls were great and I picked up some really great bargains throughout the day. The Highstreet was slightly baffling however as it included stores such as John Lewis, Fortnum and Mason and even The Body Shop. These stores, although some are 'vintage' were quite clearly there because they were giving over a large portion of 'sponsorship' money to be there, which is slightly dissatisfying as it would have been nicer to see some smaller companies there.

Also what failed to materialise was Lily Allen's new vintage store, which is a real shame as it was a really emphasised feature of the event in the press.

That's all for now, I will be backtracking and updating on my past events in the next few days. I promise not to neglect this space so much in future!

Now I'm off to spend a lovely day at museums and having afternoon tea with friends, what fun!
